Traffic cameras captured Anderson police and other law enforcement agencies pursuing a man accused of robbing a liquor store at gunpoint before the suspect hit a guardrail and went airborne.

A wild chase between an accused armed robber and Indiana police Wednesday ended with the suspect's vehicle flipping end over end in a spectacular crash.

The pursuit began just before 6:30 p.m. after Anderson police tried to apprehend a man suspected of robbing a liquor store at gunpoint, WTHR-TV reports. The suspect demanded money from a store employee before taking off with an unknown amount of cash.

Anderson police officers were joined by Indiana State Police troopers and Madison County sheriff's deputies in chasing the suspect along Interstate 69. As the pursuit continued along the interstate, traffic cameras captured the suspect losing control of his vehicle and striking a guardrail before flipping in the air.

The crash ejected the suspect from the vehicle, and he was rushed to the hospital. No details were released concerning his condition or the nature of his injuries.

The armed robbery and crash are under investigation.
